G\u00f6zde Ilkin (Istanbul) was a guest in the moving room in October 2019. Based on her artistic practice, she organized a workshop for children and young people during her stay as part of the “Aktionsraum Caf\u00e9 Gr\u00f6\u00dfenwahn”.<\/p>\n
On the occasion of the closing event of the “Aktionsraum Caf\u00e9 Gr\u00f6\u00dfenwahn” she will show her own artistic interventions as well as collaborations with participating children and young people.<\/p>\n

From the workshop description:<\/p>\n
“I work with plants and collect second-hand fabrics from each visited country. The plants as a gardener and fabrics as a memory object help me to discover the geography and culture or a landscape.<\/p>\n
During the workshop trees are main characters that we can \u00a0inspire by their communication patterns and behaviour. We ask some question about co-existence, collective living and working practices, inspired by characters and strategies of trees. We will try to create an experimental landscape by watching the trees as a home or \u00a0a geography. In three days, \u00a0 we \u00a0can take some notes and sketches together about their form, colour, depict the characters of the trees” (Goezde Ilkin)<\/p>\n

G\u00f6zde \u0130lkin lives and works in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied painting at the Fine Arts Faculty of Mimar Sinan University and is studying towards a master\u2019s degree at Marmara University in Istanbul. Using mainly stitching, drawing, painting as well as \u00a0video and sound installations, she constructs forms of confrontational interactions within the motifs of found domestic fabrics especially referring to social and political relationships\/manipulation, borders, power issues, gender attitudes and urban transformation.<\/p>\n
