Mobile artistic architecture / play sculpture
DER FAHRENDE RAUM will take place in the Freimann district every May to October over the next three years (2017–2019).
With the mobile, artistic architecture / play sculpture by Maximiliane Baumgartner (artist, Munich) and Jochen Weber (artist, Hamburg). As a component of the architecture Maximiliane Baumgartner shows the installation of her painting “Schäfflers Grid”.
As a result of its mobility within the city district, the artistic architecture/ play sculpture creates the framework for artistic engagement with community residents:
- Artistic production and reception understood as a communal research process involving artists, children, adolescents and adults
- Direct connection and occasion for cooperation (cf. communal housing on Burmesterstraße, Freimann Freizeittref youth center, Burmester primary school)
- Site-specific participation, artistic production and dialogue
The architecture opens up a wide range of spaces/ frameworks, which artists and participants will periodically be invited to rework:
It is to be understood as a unique artistic setting, whose modular, outer façade will record various painterly interventions (e.g. murals and/or a variety of printing techniques) together with invited artists and participants.
