Artist talk with Markus Ambach

Against the backdrop of his work, the Fahrende Raum will speak with Markus Ambach about the possibilities for artists to initiate spaces for social action in an urban context.
Markus Ambach (*1963)
is an artist, curator, author and initiator of numerous art projects and exhibitions, especially in the public sphere. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and founded the project platform MAP in 2002, which developed and implemented context-specific projects in the urban sphere, but also theme-specific exhibitions spaces. Exhibitions such as B1 | A40 Die Schönheit der großen Straße [B1 | A40 The Beauty of the Big Street] and Choreografie einer Landschaft [Choreography of a Landscape] investigate the relationship between art, society, urbanity and city together with artists, academics, residents and other groups within society. Markus Ambach has taught at several schools and academies including the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, the UDK Berlin and currently at the RWTH Aachen. He is the author of numerous texts and the editor of various publications.
