Phasenweise nicht produktiv (Not Productive at Times) focuses on the relationship between performance as an artistic form and education or mediation in general itself as a performative act. Which social, economic, and institutional hierarchies or unchallenged standards are reflected therein? The action, the performance, and the images that one’s own body entails point to fragile configurations as well as possibilities of opening up spaces with performative gestures.

The concept of productivity here is a kind of indicator of different notions of the two fields of work: when does education become unproductive to whom, but also how unproductive phases can be consciously approved, or how dropping out of overly efficient processes can be triggered. With reference to approaches from feminist, free, and action education, as well as conceptual performance art, the means of analyzing normative spaces and everyday languages are reflected upon in a contemporary way.

The day of action gathers together people, discussions, research, performances, and objects in a mobile spatial installation with architectural fragments from Der Fahrende Raum. They tell of a radical perception of space, cyborgs, female technologies, experimental arrangements and archives that can not be aestheticized, deviations from officialdom, criticism of and alternatives to institutionalized forms of teaching, and an imaginary audience.
